Mastering not offered in house - We work with a number of fantastic mastering houses across the country.
Payments are made directly to mastering engineer of your choosing.
Accompanying audio samples are greatly appreciated. Please, don’t hesitate to send over any thoughts regarding your inquiry. Weekly and monthly block projects are always welcome. We will happily do everything we can to accommodate your needs and budget.
What to expect when scheduling time
We typically do a 2:1 rule; 2 full recording sessions for every full song planned. Once the number of songs goes up, there can be a little more overlap (I.e. 8 sessions for 5 songs) However, you should expect the best results from your recordings if they’re given the appropriate amount of time to be developed.
Multitrack or Live track? We love live tracking our clients here at Highland, but we will most commonly suggest a multitrack recording session. If recording together as a live group is part of your vision, we’d love to go over a plan for achieving that in a controlled and effective manner.
Need help putting on the finishing touches? All of us here at Highland enjoy being hands on and communicative in the creative process. However, in the case that the songs aren’t structurally complete, or at least in a final draft form, we suggest holding off on booking your date until you can be most confident in the changes we may make at the recording stage. Collaborative Production is offered as a separate service fee additional to session time.
